Diagonal of a parallelogram

Aim :
By paper cutting/pasting verify "diagonal of a paralleogram divides it into two triangles of equal areas.
Material Required:
Dotted paper, ruler,sketch pen, pair of scissors
Procedure:
Step 1 Draw a parallelogram ABCD on a dotted paper.

Step 2 Join diagonal AC.

Step 3 Cut the parallelogram.
Step 4 Cut along the diagonal AC.
Step 5 Place triangle ABC on triangle ADB such that AD coincides with BC, AB coincides with CD
Step 6 Repeat the activity for the other diagonal

Observations:
1.Triangle ABC completely covers triangle CDA.
Result:Diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of equal areas.

Hello friends!! , I am Sukrit of Claa9G & want to share my experience with you about the activity “Diagonal is the longest chord of a circle” which I learnt in “Planet Infinity” at khms.

The aim of this activity is “By paper cutting/pasting verify "diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of equal areas”. The Material required is Dotted paper, ruler, sketch pen, pair of scissors. The Procedure to perform this activity is as following:
1) First, we need to draw a parallelogram ABCD on a dotted paper.
2) Secondly, we have to join the diagonal AC.
3) Then cut the parallelogram.
4) Cut along the diagonal AC.
5) At last, we have to place triangle ABC on triangle ADB such that AD coincides with BC, AB coincides with CD.
6) Repeat the activity for the other diagonal.

By performing the following activity we observe that triangle ABC completely covers triangle CDA.

Therefore we conclude that: Diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of equal areas.
I think that it’s a great way to teach the students & would also like to congratulate our teacher that she has succeeded in teaching math’s to a student like me…..
And I would also like to thank her for her greatest efforts.

Hello friends,i'm Raunaq Binddra of class IX-G & i want to share that how i'd done the activity-diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of equal areas by paper cutting and pasting.Dotted paper,ruler,sketch pen,pair of scissors are some of the materials which are required for doing this activity.First,i'd drawn a parallelogram ABCD,on adotted paper.Second ,i joined the diagonal AC.Third,i cutted the parallelogram.Then,i cutted diagonal AC also.After it,i placed triangle ABC on triangle ADB such that AD coincides with BC & AB coincides with CD and after it i observed that triangle ABC completely covers triangle CDA.THEREFORE,we concluded that diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of equal areas.I've learnt many mathematical concepts from PLANET INFINITY.Thanks to RASHMI KATHURIA mam for teaching me so much about these concepts.
